Fashion // My Summer Accessories Wishlist*

by , in
Hey lovelies!
So, you guys have seen what’s on my fashion wish list, now what about the accessories to go with it? No outfit is complete without the right bits and bobs to tie everything together, and I am loving so many of the trends that are out in force this season. I hope you enjoy reading about a few of my favourites that will no doubt become additions to my wardrobe very soon.
Scarves a thousand ways
When you talk about scarves with outfits, most people think of cold winter evenings and wrapping up tight, but a handy scarf can be just the thing to brighten up an outfit in the summer too. I always keep one in my handbag no matter where I go on holiday, and there are some beautiful, bold patterns in the shops right now. My top tip is to go for the longer, wider scarves; during the day, they can keep the sun off your shoulders, but in the evenings they can double as a shawl on those walks back from beach-front restaurants in the evening.

Killer espadrilles
Comfortable, stylish, and oh so on trend, I discovered these on one of my many online window-shopping days. Made of natural fibres they look great with floral outfits, or why not go for one of the bolder patterns, such as the glitter canvas pairs or one of the tropical prints. They’re the perfect beach footwear too, as you don’t have to worry about the sand getting stuck inside due to the open back.

Go boho
Whether it’s a maxi dress with a hippie-inspired print, or floral headdresses to flatter your beach waves, everyone is channelling the boho-chic look this summer. If you’re looking for something truly unique to complete your outfit, then you can find some stunning boho jewellery from ChloBo on their website. They’re all high-quality handmade pieces, and the designs of the boho-luxe collection has everything from flower power inspired charms to smoky quartz bracelets.

Not so novelty clutches
Have you seen the number of awesome novelty purses and clutch bags in the shops? They can actually really complement the right outfit if you choose wisely. For example, I would pair a plain green dress with one of these cool palm tree leaf bags – not only do they draw the eye and add some glitter to an otherwise plain outfit, but it also won’t then detract from a bold piece of statement jewellery. It’s all about balance!

Gem stones galore
Speaking of bold jewellery, another trend that I’m taking full advantage of this summer is for the large gem stone necklaces. I’ve seen some beautiful pieces of lapis lazuli set into fixed gold collars that remind me of that classic Egyptian style! But then I might go for one of the large strands of coral to keep the summery theme going.

What do you think of these accessories? If you have any top picks for this summer, don’t forget to leave me a comment!

Beauty // Review: Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks

by , in
                                                                                        Hey lovelies,
Yay, it feels so nice to sit down and write a post! I've just moved back home to London for a few weeks from university and we've been without wifi for a week #struggles I'm excited to commence with frequent posts. I just cannot stop loving everything beauty at the minute and I feel like I have SO many products to share with you all!  today I bring a very exciting post!! I managed to get my hands on three shades in Colourpops Ultra Matte Lip range. Colourpop is an American brand who do a really gorgeous range of makeup and it's also recently been known that the Kylie lip kits are actually made using the same formula.

I remember discovering them on Twitter almost a year ago and having a meltdown because they aren't sold in the UK (UPDATE: they'll be introducing worldwide shipping from July 12th). A few months on and people seem to be finding different ways to get their hands on shades over here in the UK. I was actually lucky enough to get my shades because someone I follow over on Twitter had a few purchases from them but wasn't too much of a fan of the ultra mattes. A UK site called Lustre Cosmetics actually sell them over on their website and delivery is super quick, my cousin highly recommends ordering from them!

I managed to get my hands on three shades in the range which are Lax, Solow and Mars. I think I'm right in saying there were 25 shades when they first launched last year, which they've since expanded. They've also brought out collaborations with a few well known ladies - first being model Karrueche Tran who has her 'Kaepop' range with the brand which is filled with the most amazing deep lip colours I've ever seen and also not long ago did a collab with one of my fav YouTubers Jenn Im.

I think this is probably my favourite shade out of all three. I originally thought it would come out more browny, but its more of a deep red which I am absolutely crazy for. This is a shade I don't think I've ever come across with any UK brands. I love having this on my lips when I'm wearing minimal makeup and want something extra to make it pop! I'm really looking forward to the winter months to pop it on, I have a feeling it'll be my go-to lip.

I really have a big soft spot for Mars. It reminds me so much of one of the shades in the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet range that started off my love for Matte Lipsticks along with 107 from Rimmel London. It's a really nice dark pinky fuchsia colour and really makes a big statement on the lips!

I was a tad disappointed with this shade as I'd gotten it mixed up with another shade called 'Bumble' so sadly it wasn't as dark toned as I thought it would be. Nevertheless, I am growing very fond of this nude pink. It's really nice for when I want to put a bit of lipstick on but don't want anything too in your face.

Formula? Lasting Power? Price?
In terms of the formula, I have nothing but praise for this range. I feel like
with any matte lip range reviews are always going to be split 50/50 as some people find their lips get on better with them than others do. I don't find this drying in the slightest, I find it feels so lightweight on my lips. I've started wearing creamy lip liners lightly underneath my lipstick just incase of any dryness. I recommend Barry Ms £2.99 range of lip liners more than anything! in terms of lasting power, I've been out for food and drinks quite a lot when wearing LAX. I found that these last for hours. On one occasion I remember it completely staying on my lips and another while eating something heavy, it rubbed a bit didn't make a huge difference. The lipsticks are priced at $6 in the US, which works out as £4.64 in pounds. As I mentioned earlier Colourpop will be introducing international shipping this coming Tuesday, they have yet to say anything on shipping prices but hopefully it'll be reasonably priced.

Are you excited for the UK arrival of Colourpop? Have you got any products from them?

Fashion // Summer Wishlist Part 2!

by , in
                                                                   Hey lovelies,
There are SO many things that I currently have in my online shopping basket. The UK weather still hasn't stopped sulking but with some apparent nice sunny days predicted for the next two weeks, perhaps I'll be able to make a few summery purchases!
Summer Wishlist part 2!

1 / Lavish Alice Keyhole Neck Blouse - Simply Be*
While browsing online, there was something that really caught my eye about this blouse. Firstly, the browny/pink is such a gorgeous colour, there are so many places to shop online with similar items, so to come across a top in quite a unique colour it makes me want to purchase it instantly. I'm also really fond of the keyhole neck and draped sleeves. I recently picked up a pair of gorgeous light blue Join Jeans in the Topshop sale for a bargain of only £20 and I've been looking for different tops I could pair it with to also go with one of my many pairs of heeled boots.

2 / Bardot Halter Neck Crop Top - House of Fraser
The only word to describe this top is 'YASSS'. Whilst at university I've really built up quite the collection of crop tops for nights out. My uni night out outfit go-to is always  a crop top paired with a black skater skirt. This one is quite different to the ones I currently have and the pink definitely isn't too in your face.

3 / Mono Print Kimono - Simply Be*
If there are two things I own a heck of a lot of, it's hands down my collection of crop tops and kimonos. Kimonos are truly one of my favourite fashion pieces because they are so easy to wear with a casual outfit or something a bit more dressy. I also find them so perfect for nights out when you don't really want to layer up to much with a jacket because a) you're a student and the £1 you spend for the cloakroom could be put towards alcohol or food during your night or b) just to add a bit more to quite a plain outfit.

4 / Convertible Backpack - ZARA
My love for backpacks still continues, especially little tiny ones. So many sites seem to be doing the most amazing backpacks at the minute and I'm pleasantly surprised that the price tags seem to be really reasonably priced! summer is one of my favourite times of year to carry around statement bags.

5 / Black Balcony Bra - Simply Be*
I've had my blog for so long now and I've mentioned everything from my love for pizza (repeatedly) to my favourite matte lipsticks. One thing I've realised I've never mentioned is bras.. crazy. I suppose just because I have boobs it doesn't mean I necessarily have to mention them in posts. However, I really wanted to feature a bra I've really been liking the look of from Simply Be. Since I can remember, I've always had big boobs and the thing I used to hate about it was the lack of nice bras for women with big boobs.. talk about lack of variety. Anyway, I'd say around the last two years my bra game has been on point and I owe that to the baes at Simply Be. They literally do so many nice bras in different sizes and whether you have small boobs or big boobs they never let you down with the designs.
