Fashion // OOTD: Boy, I Adore You.

Hey lovelies,
This week went so incredibly fast, can't believe Friday is here already. I'm so excited that March is also tomorrow as it means quite a few birthdays to look forward to, including mine!

Top - Primark/ Skirt - Asos/ Boots - Topshop/ Flower Headband - Primark/ Lips - Maybelline Baby Lips Balm 'Cherry Me'

I felt ever so summery when these pictures were being taken. London is absolutely gorgeous when the sun is shining. As soon as I saw this top in Primark, I just knew I'd be taking it home with me. I am literally loving Primark's SS14 collection and with spring just around the corner, I think another Primark shop is well and truly in order. I've been loving my Asos skirt again, it just goes so perfectly with all my tops. I haven't worn my flower headband since last summer, I definitely get such summery vibes when I wear it. This year I most definitely want to invest in more flower headbands and hats.

Are you a fan of flower headbands?

Happy 2nd Birthday Vanzthemachinee.❤

by , in

Hey beauts,
Today marks the 2nd birthday of Vanzthemachinee. I can't believe it has been two whole years since I first created this blog, absolutely insane. This past year I've really enjoyed writing so many posts on here and getting to read some of the lovelies comments. My number of readers has increased which is so awesome. I am so glad that I stuck at blogging for yet another year. I am really looking forward to seeing what the next year brings for my blog and writing many more posts. I'm hoping to get a better quality camera at some point and writing lots of different styles of posts. Here's to hopefully another awesome year of blogging. :)

Fashion // February Wishlist

                                                                                         Hey beauts,
I can't believe the end of February is so near. Is it just me or have both January and February felt like a total blur? I am really starting to get pumped for both spring and summer now, so this wishlist is quite SS14 inspired and contains more black than I originally thought!
February Wishlist!
1. Black Skort - £10.00 Primark
Primark yet again have dropped another bangin' SS14 collection and I am so happy to see skorts are apart of it. Skorts are such a big trend at the moment and I've loved seeing so many posts on how people style them up. They also have it in red, but I love the black version the most.

2. Cat Face Beanie - £8.00 ASOS
I spotted this super adorable beanie over on Niomi's blog and absolutely loved the way she styled it so effortlessly. Of course the cat face is what attracted me to it. ;) I am determined to start wearing my hair down, so I'll need a cute beanie to go with my new hairdo.

3. Fedora Hat - £25.00 ASOS
Ally and I have fallen so in love with fedoras. I've seen so many people wearing them lately and I hope I am able to pull it off. They really are such a nice touch to any outfit. I am already visioning outfits in my head. Hello chunky boots, dresses and fedoras *heart eyes emoji*.

4. Spot Print Box Top - £10.00 Matalan
Matalan has fast become one of my favourite shops. I've got my eyes on quite a few box tops on the site at the moment and I love that the majority of them are monochrome. I don't think my love for Monochrome will ever go away!

5. Chunky Chelsea Boots - £24.00 Matalan
I saw my friend Alice Instagram these Chelsea boots and completely fell in love. I generally much prefer shoes with a matte finish than a patent finish as I don't' really like the glossy look but these are definitely an exception and not to mention, so versatile.

6. Lazer Cut Short - £10.00 Primark
I saw these shorts on a recent trip to Primark and really liked the look of them. I think these would be great for a day to night look and I really love the cuts. I do like denim shorts but I'd love to wear more shorts like these and floral ones.

7. YSL 03 Ultimate Beige - £25.00 Feel Unique
Before I started my blog, if someone had told me that I'd start up a lipstick collection and be spending more than £5 on some of them then I'd probably have laughed and said don't be silly.. My oh my have I changed my ways. I've read the fantastic reviews on this YSL lipstick and seen someone with the same skin tone look incredible wearing it. I know some would say £25.00 is quite expensive but I really do think it's worth it and the packaging is so cute.

8. Tanya Burr Peaches & Cream Nail Polish - £5.99
I think pretty much everyone was extremely excited when Tanya Burr announced she'd be having a nails and lips collection. All I've seen is wonderful reviews about both products. There are some amazing colours in her collection. I especially love this polish as it reminds me a lot of my favourite Barry M polish 'Peach Melba'. Peachy colours get me super excited for spring!

What do you currently have on your SS14 wishlist?

                                                                                                               Hey lovelies,
I am currently on half term, I still have a ton of work to get done this week but it's always nice for a bit of time off. I think my blogging is becoming a bit more frequent now which I'm loving. I'm hoping that if I just get myself more organised then I'll be able to stick to my 2-3 posts per week. It generally gives me such joy to be able to write about things I love and actually have people show an interest (sorry to get a bit soppy) it'll be 2 years that I first created this blog on the 25th of this month, can I get a whoop whoop? ;)
Top - Primark/ Skirt - F&F Clothing/ Boots - New Look/ Lipstick - MAC 'Russian Red'

I spent Friday with two of my favourite gal pals Sian and Ally, celebrating our love for one another on Valentine's Day. ;) Me and Ally headed over to Sian's that evening to get ready together. Sian has a great Nikon camera so she kindly offered to take some blog photos for us. Thanks for being my camera woman. Sian is also starting her blog back up so make sure to follow her as she's got some great posts coming up!

The day before I took to the shops to find something to wear. I have a habit of leaving my outfit planning right to the last minute. Usually when I only have a bit of time I never actually find anything decent to wear, end up purchasing something that I'm not so keen on and then end up just wearing something I've had for ages. I was pretty chuffed when I spotted this checked top, I love the pattern and collar too. It's definitely a great top to be dressed up and down. My F&F Clothing skirt is one of my favourites to wear and I love how they both went together. I obviously had to go for my favourite New Look boots. I put on Russian Red by MAC and away we went for a night that was filled with absolute laughter from start to finish, we're a funny bunch!

How was your Valentine's Day spent?

Hey beauts,
Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day, whether you're currently in a relationship or not, I think It's all about eating chocolates spreading the love. ;) Today I'm featuring some ever so lovely gloves from Alice Hannah and will also be running a giveaway for you to win your own pair too.

Alice Hannah is a London based fashion design company which specialises in quality accessories. They have a whole range of hats, headbands, scarves, gloves and collars on their site. I picked out the Leather Glove with Heart design.

Leather Gloves - Alice Hannah*

I've always been a lover of leather gloves, they always look so classy. I really love how these ones have the heart and the little bow, I just think it adds something a little extra. I'm really excited to wear these out as the weather has been terrible recently and I think they will really help me to keep warm and stylish at the same time! I think these would be nice pieces to wear every season for when it gets chilly. I'd style these with a red statement oversized boyfriend coat. At £40 I think these are worth it as they are of a high quality and you can tell that they will last a very long time and I think they'd be a great gift to give someone!

Alice Hannah kindly gifted me two pairs of gloves, one for me and one to giveaway for one of my lovely readers. To enter make sure you like Alice Hannah on Facebook and follow the rest of the rules on the Raffelcopter below! (This is a UK only giveaway).

Spring Holidays: Tips for Packing Light
OK, so the cold English weather is showing no sign of abating – no surprise there – so it’s understandable that some people are looking to escape abroad for a couple of weeks in the sun. However, while you may be worrying about the cost of the hotel and the flight, there are other things that you should think about before going ahead and booking, such as ways in which to cut your costs so that you can get the best value possible.

A great way to cut back on costs is to pack light. Nowadays, some airlines charge for passengers to check in hold luggage which, if travelling as a family, can soon add up. While you may be entitled to a suitcase per paid-seat, with a maximum weight attached to it, sometimes, it’s easier (and cheaper) to try and pack lightly so that you’re not faced with the baggage costs. Here are some top tips to help you.

  • Use your hand luggage allowance. Whether you check in bags or not, using your hand luggage allowance is a great way to take the pressure off your hold luggage. While you do have to adhere to regulations and guidelines regarding what you can have in your cabin bag, you are usually allowed between 5kg and 10kg per person, which is an enormous amount, when you think about it. Sure, you’ll need some of it for entertainment, magazines and essentials but you’ll be surprised at what else you can squeeze into the pockets if you know how!
  • Pack things like underwear and swimwear last. You can squeeze them down the sides of the suitcase rather than taking up more valuable space with them. Take a look at the range of swimming costumes from George too, and consider taking mix and match items, such as a tankini top, pants and bikini top rather than two full sets.
  • It may be tempting to pack more than one outfit per day, just in case you fancy changing part way through, but you don’t have to do that. Instead, just pack what you need. Choose lightweight clothes that don’t take up too much space and opt for outfits that you can mix and match. If you’re going away for a week, you don’t need 7 pairs of shorts and skirts, for example. Simply pack a couple that you can re-use and pop some accessories in the case to make the outfits look different.
  • Roll your clothes. This often means that you can fit a lot more into your case than you may have thought, and will also mean that your garments are crease-free when you arrive at the resort.
  • Write a checklist, and stick to it. Pull out all the things you’re considering taking from your wardrobe, and then whittle down to the bare essentials.
  • Don’t assume that you need different outfits for the day and evening, because most of the time, you don’t. You will probably just be in your cozzie for the majority of the day, anyway.

Be sensible about what you pack, and share suitcases with your family where you can. If you’re sensible about what you take, there’s no reason why you can’t use the same suitcase as your other half and there’s definitely no reason why your children need individual luggage. Save on your flight cost by being savvy this spring!

Marisota SS14 Style.

by , in
Hey beauts,
Eee, I loved the little bit of sun we had this afternoon in London. I'm totally getting those summer vibes. The lovelies over at Marisota kindly sent over this absolutely gorgeous biker jacket from their new range for me to style up. A few other lovely bloggers are also taking part in this challenge and everyone either gets sent a PU Trim Pencil Skirt, TRULY WOW Panelled Blouse or like I got the Mark Heyes Boucle Biker Jacket. When my package arrived I had no idea what I'd been sent but I was so over the moon to open it and see this beaut of a biker jacket.

Biker Jacket - Marisota*/ Top - eBay/ Skirt - Matalan/ Boots - Clothes Minded

Cream is one of my absolute favourite colours for Spring/Summer. It was definitely such a big hit last year. The main focus on my outfit is the jacket and as it's a light colour I knew I wanted to style it with darker clothing. I love all the little bits of detailing on it and the way it's structured. I also love the length of the jacket as it's quite long unlike other biker jackets. I love how it's styled up on the website with printed trousers, I'd love to give that a go.

Another big trend I see for SS14 are printed Tshirts. They're really taking the fashion world by storm and are definitely such a huge hit with us bloggers! I am such a Mean Girls super-fan so I knew I just had to get this Tshirt as it's so fetch. ;) I then paired it with my favourite new skirt from Matalan, such a bargain at only £2.50... The perks of having a clearance store near you. Then added my super trusty monochrome boots from Clothes Minded in too that I am forever grateful that Ally got me. I can't even begin to explain how easy they are to walk in. I think both the jacket and skirt are both great at skimming the sides of you which is good as I really hate the wobbly bits down my sides (LOL, wobbly is such a funny word). I love how the whites from the jacket, Tshirt and boots all go so well together! I've already worn my jacket out a few times but I'm trying to save wearing it for summer when the weather hopefully will heat up. I am super excited to pair it with dresses and shorts and hopefully be bare legged without worrying about rain coming down!

What trends are you looking forward to wearing in SS14?
